Under the title "Tunisia's Judiciary Opens Investigation into Three Political Parties, Including Ennahda," Sky News reported that the spokesperson for the Tunisian Economic and Financial Judicial Pole, Mohsen Dalil, announced on Wednesday the opening of an investigation regarding three parties, including the Ennahda Movement, for allegedly receiving foreign funding during elections. Dalil clarified that the investigation would encompass the Ennahda Movement, Heart of Tunisia, and Tunisian Life. Judges will undertake "precautionary measures" against those suspected of receiving foreign funding.
In this context, Dalil stated to "Sky News Arabic": "The investigating judges will carry out precautionary measures against those they deem responsible for charges related to foreign funding for electoral campaigns and funding of unknown origin." This development follows decisions made by President Kais Saied, the latest of which on Tuesday involved terminating the positions of the Head of the Prime Minister's Office, the Secretary General of the government, and several officials.
Sky News explained that Kais Saied terminated the roles of the Secretary General of the government, the Head of the Prime Minister's Office, advisors to the Prime Minister, and several individuals assigned to duties within the Prime Minister's Office, as well as the head of the General Authority for the Martyrs and Wounded of the Revolution and Terrorist Operations. These decisions follow actions taken by the Tunisian president, which included dismissing Hicham Mechichi from the Prime Ministry, suspending the work of parliament, and lifting the immunity of its members.
