A flight attendant made a marriage proposal to her pilot friend, who works for the same airline, at an altitude of 30,000 feet during a flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles, according to U.S. media reports. Veronica Rojas met her friend Alejandra Moncayo onboard an Alaska Airlines flight where they both worked, in 2020, as reported by ABC 4.
When the idea came to Rojas's mind, she contacted the airline's senior officials who were enthusiastic about it and wanted to ensure everything went smoothly without any issues. Last Wednesday, Rojas asked Moncayo to accompany her on a quick trip from San Francisco to Los Angeles, which took place on the Alaska Pride in the Sky aircraft. During the flight, Rojas dropped to one knee and proposed to her friend, who immediately accepted, saying "yes."
This event took place during "Pride Month," celebrated every June to commemorate the Stonewall events in New York City in 1969, when members of the LGBTQ+ community resisted police mistreatment and discrimination, leading to the birth of the human rights movement. On this occasion, the airline announced that it gifted everyone onboard free tickets for an upcoming trip with Alaska Airlines.
