The Secretary-General of the Union of Tourism Syndicates, Jean Beirouti, confirmed to "Al-Markaziya" that "the sports events taking place today in Lebanon are a unique tourist attraction, especially in basketball, which is being held in Doukkaneh, in addition to the Asian athletics championship and other sports that support the tourism sector in the summer." He mentioned that "60 percent of the tourism income in Dubai comes from the sports sector, and Qatar is preparing to host millions of fans from various nationalities to attend the FIFA World Cup, in addition to tournaments held in tennis in Dubai and Doha featuring world champions in the sport." He emphasized that "various sectors are currently working to attract tourists, especially the sports sector."
