Dr. Matthias Riedel stated that almonds are a friend to the heart; they help maintain normal cholesterol levels in the blood by lowering harmful cholesterol (LDL) and preserving beneficial cholesterol (HDL). It is noted that normal cholesterol levels are a key factor for maintaining heart health.
The German clinical nutritionist added that almonds are also rich in dietary fiber, which prolongs the feeling of fullness, thus helping with weight loss and promoting fitness on one hand, while also stimulating the digestive process on the other hand.
Riedel added that almonds are rich in essential minerals and vitamins for health, such as magnesium, potassium, and vitamin E, pointing out that the recommended daily amount is 30 grams, which is equivalent to a handful.
