The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received the designated Prime Minister of Lebanon, Saad Hariri, at the Al Shati Palace during his visit to the UAE today.
The Emirates News Agency reported that the meeting included discussions on aspects of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual interest. This included the COVID-19 pandemic and its various impacts, along with ways to address and contain its effects. The agency added that the Crown Prince listened to Hariri regarding the latest developments in Lebanon, particularly concerning the formation of the new government.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed his wishes for the success of the mission to form a Lebanese government that considers national interests, transcends differences, and is capable of facing the various challenges surrounding Lebanon. He reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates' support for the Lebanese people in realizing their aspirations for unity, stability, and development.
For his part, Hariri congratulated Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed on the success of the "Hope Probe" in reaching Mars and praised the UAE's consistent support for Lebanon, especially during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, wishing "safety for the UAE and its people from all harm."
