Killing of a Peacekeeper in an Attack in Mali

A member of the United Nations peacekeeping forces in Mali was killed and three others were injured this morning in an attack on their convoy in Kidal (north), according to a statement from the mission's spokesperson, Olivier Salgado, on social media. An unnamed security official revealed that the injured peacekeepers are part of the Jordanian battalion in the "United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali" (MINUSMA), which reported being targeted in a "terrorist" attack without any indication of the attackers' identity.
