Living Conditions Deteriorate, Roads Blocked in Beirut

According to the National News Agency, the road in Qasqas was blocked in both directions by a number of protesters using waste containers in response to the deteriorating living conditions and worsening economic and financial situations, as well as the water supply cut to Beirut for the third consecutive week. It was also reported that several protesters blocked the road in the Verdun-Hamra area at two points: the intersection of the Druze Community House and in front of the Barbar Khazen barracks, using burning tires and containers set on fire to protest the rising communication prices, the water outage, and the severe electricity rationing. Traffic was redirected to side streets. Subsequently, protesters concerning the living conditions blocked the Barbir road leading to Ras al-Nabaa - Bashara Khoury. In this context, the Traffic Control Room reported the road was blocked at the Cola intersection in Beirut before it was reopened later. Additionally, protesters blocked the road in the Hamra area at the Sadat intersection, as well as in the Raouché area of Beirut.
