The Egyptian prosecution is investigating a girl in the Dakahlia Governorate, accused of blackmailing dozens of men and women through Facebook by sending indecent images and messages to obtain money from them in exchange for ceasing to publish those images. According to the Egyptian newspaper "Al-Shorouk," security authorities in Mansoura received numerous complaints against a woman named "Aliya," 36, who resides in Mansoura, stating that she was blackmailing and threatening them with manipulated images and videos, threatening to publish them on social media, and sending them to all the victims' relatives using technological means. Officers from the General Department for Combating Internet Crimes managed to identify the accused and the source of the threatening messages. Following legal procedures, a unit of police officers from the Second Mansoura Police Department executed the Prosecutor's orders and arrested the accused. It was found that the accused had been selecting her victims from high-ranking positions to blackmail them and obtain large amounts of money. The Second Mansoura Prosecution has taken over the investigation into the incident.
