Destruction of a Drone Launched by Houthi Militia Towards Abha Airport

The Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen announced today that air defenses intercepted and destroyed an explosive drone launched by Houthi militias towards Abha Airport. The coalition stated that the violations committed by the Houthi militias are severe regarding international law and pose a threat to civilians, and they are addressing the sources of threat decisively to protect civilians and civilian entities from hostile attacks.

On Monday, the coalition had announced that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed an explosive drone launched towards Khamis Mushait. The coalition confirmed: "We are addressing sources of threat decisively to protect civilians and civilian entities from hostile attacks."

It is noteworthy that Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan emphasized on Sunday that the Kingdom would not hesitate to respond to any Houthi attacks. He affirmed during a joint press conference with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg in Riyadh that Houthi militias threaten civilian facilities such as Abha International Airport and the Dammam area. He also stressed that the priority remains to achieve peace in Yemen. Additionally, he mentioned that the Kingdom had put forth a proposal for a comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen, but the Houthis did not adhere to it and continued to threaten civilians.
