Under the title "Executed more than 20 fraudulent theft operations within Beirut and Mount Lebanon - those who fell victim to his actions should contact the Information Branch," the Lebanese Internal Security Forces reported on their Facebook page that several fraudulent theft incidents recently occurred, targeting many businesses that offer "online delivery services" by an unidentified individual.
As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the specialized units in the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces were able to identify the suspect, named: - A. B. (born in 1965, Lebanese), who has a history of fraud and theft crimes.
On 2021-04-20, after careful monitoring, one of the branch's patrols managed to arrest him red-handed in the Galeries Samaan area - Baabda, in a BMW vehicle, while attempting to steal a mobile device from a delivery worker.
During interrogation, he confessed to executing more than 20 fraudulent thefts in various areas of Beirut and Mount Lebanon by contacting restaurants and commercial establishments (jewelry, shoes, perfumes, mobile devices, etc.) that provide "online delivery services." He would request available items, and when the delivery person reached the specified address, he would receive the "order" and deceive the worker into thinking he had forgotten his wallet at home, asking the delivery worker to follow him, allowing him to escape in his car, which has been seized.
Therefore, the General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces has circulated his photo, based on the relevant judicial authority's request, and asks those who have fallen victim to his fraudulent acts to contact the Information Branch at the number 513797/01 to take the necessary legal measures.
