Denmark: Copenhagen Attack Perpetrator Known to Police

The Prime Minister of Denmark urged her citizens to unite and show solidarity following a shooting at a shopping center in the capital, Copenhagen, on Sunday. The police revealed that the suspect in the shooting incident is "marginally known" to them, without disclosing his full identity.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated in a late Sunday announcement, "Denmark experienced a violent attack on Sunday evening. Several people have died, and many more have been injured. Innocent families were shopping or dining. Children and young people." She added, "Our beautiful and very safe capital has changed in a matter of seconds. I want to encourage Danes to come together and support each other during this difficult time."

Copenhagen police reported that they dispatched several security personnel to the "Field's" shopping center after receiving reports of gunfire, urging people inside to remain in place and await assistance.
