Libya has been ranked as the largest importer of used Korean cars, with 102,000 vehicles imported, followed by Yemen with 39,000 cars, then Jordan with 26,000, Ghana with 17,000, Oman with 16,000, and finally Cambodia with 13,000.
Despite a decline in shipments last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, shipments of used cars represent the largest proportion of shipping to Middle Eastern countries from South Korea. The Korean news agency Yonhap reported that exports of used cars to the Middle East have been gradually recovering since the second half of last year. Incheon Port accounted for 90% of the total exports of used cars from the country, leading to a record annual figure for used car exports in 2019.
