Salmon: A Friend to the Heart

The Federal Center for Nutrition has announced that salmon is a friend to the heart, as it is rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids (Omega-3), which help lower levels of harmful cholesterol (LDL) and high blood pressure, subsequently reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks and strokes. The German center added that, in conjunction with antioxidants, polyunsaturated fatty acids (Omega-3) also improve brain activity and combat stress hormones. Additionally, salmon is a treasure trove of minerals and vitamins such as phosphorus and potassium, which are important for bone health, iodine, which is essential for thyroid health, B vitamins crucial for nerve health, and vitamin D, which is important for bone and dental health. In general, it is recommended to consume fish twice a week to benefit from its numerous health advantages.
