Egypt: Death of Popular Singer Due to Heart Attack at 37

Egyptian artist Hani Shakir, head of the Musicians' Syndicate, announced the death of popular singer Essam Khattab at the age of 37. Shakir wrote on his Twitter account: "To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. With great sorrow, I mourn the late singer Essam Khattab, a member of the Alexandria Syndicate Council, praying for Allah to bestow His vast mercy and forgiveness upon him, and offering condolences to the general assembly, and patience and solace to his family."

The Musicians' Syndicate issued a statement mourning the late artist, stating, "The president, members of the board, and all employees express their condolences for the brother and colleague singer Essam Khattab, after a struggle with illness," and they prayed for mercy for the deceased and patience for his family.

Essam Khattab was considered one of the most prominent festival singers in the Arab world. Born in the city of Alexandria, he was 37 years old and had released many popular songs that gained him fame among audiences. Khattab had a large collection of artistic works that achieved significant success. Among his notable songs during his artistic journey was "Aalamak Eih" from the movie "Qalb Aswad." He also participated in the TV series "Al-Bataniya" in 2009, which was written by Ismail Walid and directed by Mohamed El Naqli.

The Musicians' Syndicate indicated that the cause of Essam Khattab's death was sudden, resulting from a heart attack. He was taken to the hospital but passed away there. Several artists and singers in Egypt expressed their condolences, as he was considered one of the prominent popular singers.
