On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, the Ukrainian capital experienced enormous explosions, one of which was the largest so far in the ongoing war with Russia. The flash from the massive explosion that struck Kyiv lit up the night sky, reminiscent of the flash produced by miniature nuclear explosions. CBS News reported that it captured images of the biggest explosions that have hit Kyiv to date. A reporter from the channel was on camera when the explosion occurred, lighting up the sky, and he questioned what had happened. This was followed by an even larger flash and a tremendous sound, with shock evident on the reporter and his team.
There were reports of four explosions hitting Kyiv shortly after the air raid sirens broke the capital's cautious calm around 2 a.m. local time. One of these explosions was so massive that it surpassed any previous explosion, causing a significant tremor in the city. Earlier, a Russian missile struck near the main railway station in southern Kyiv on Wednesday night, where thousands of women and children were being evacuated. Ukrainian authorities stated that the building sustained minor damage, and the number of casualties is not yet known.
