She stated, "Thank God, I have retired from acting, programs, press interviews, and all forms of being in the spotlight." Al-Hakim mentioned that she has dedicated herself to the worship of God for the past 11 years, as this was the right time for her to feel fulfilled in art. She also believes it is her duty to devote herself to the worship of God and to thank Him for the blessings she has received, noting that she has begun reading the Quran and started reading a book explaining the Quran for children.
Aathar Al-Hakim has been absent from any artistic work for the past 11 years, specifically since she participated in the series "Al-Watar Al-Mashdood" in 2009, which starred Maali Zayed, Kamal Abou Riya, Samih El-Sirty, Ahmed Khalil, Mariam Fakhr Eddin, Khairy Ahmed, Rania Youssef, Sherif Heli, Mohamed Kamel, Nadia Fahmy, Salwa Mohamed Ali, Abdel Aziz Makhyoun, Inas Al-Nagar, Ashraf Abdel Ghafoor, Ahmed Sayam, and others. The series was written by Emad Nafe and directed by Khaled Bahgat.
