Shama "the Female Robot" in Phase of Transitioning Identity from Moroccan to Global

Shama

An American company, "FOTAHUB," managed by a person of Moroccan origin, has decided to invest in "Shama," a robot originally designed in Morocco, with a budget estimated at 111,000 dollars, provided by the Moroccan researcher who created it.

The Moroccan researcher and her team decided to design a new and upgraded version of "Shama," as the amount paid by the American company equals one million Moroccan dirhams. This funding will allow for development operations, especially since researcher Hajar Musnif informed the Moroccan news agency that she started creating "Shama the robot" with very limited resources.

During a UN event to combat violence against women, "Shama" the robot gained prominence through Arab and international media as the first female robot in the Arab world last October.

The United Nations Population Fund stated that "the campaign will be in collaboration with 'Shama' the female robot, who will appear in a video recording discussing the role of women in society and raising awareness about the necessity of caring for women and not tolerating any practices that harm girls and women."
