Fire Set in Front of Tripoli Serail

A number of youths set fire in front of the Tripoli Serail.

The National News Agency reported that a group of young men, after the speeches delivered in Nour Square during the protests against the deteriorating living and economic conditions and in solidarity with the city's residents, headed to the entrance of the Tripoli Serail and set tires ablaze in front of the guard room. The agency added that the youths went to the back door of the serail and threw stones heavily towards the security forces, which responded by firing teargas canisters to disperse them and drive them away from the back entrance of the serail. The Nour Square in Tripoli witnessed from 1 PM onwards the arrival of popular delegations from various northern areas, especially from Dinnieh, Miniyeh, and Akkar, in addition to groups from the capital Beirut, Sidon, Metn, and Bekaa to express solidarity with the people of Tripoli and to condemn the acts of unrest that the northern capital has experienced in recent days.
