The following statement was issued by the Army Command - Directorate of Orientation:
On 14/8/2022, after receiving information about the presence of a stolen Kia Cerato vehicle, license plate number 532170/B, in the Wadi Faara area, Bekaa, an army unit headed to the location where it came under gunfire from an unknown individual driving the aforementioned vehicle, accompanied by a citizen (Y.N.) on an unlicensed motorcycle. The unit returned fire, resulting in the injury of the latter, who was taken to the hospital for treatment, where it was discovered that he was wanted for theft, while the driver fled the scene. The vehicle and motorcycle were confiscated.
The confiscated items were handed over, and an investigation began with the detained individual under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
