British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab stated on Wednesday that Britain and the United States are "united" in condemning the recent Iranian attack on the tanker "Mercer Street" in the Arabian Sea. Raab added in a tweet that he spoke by phone with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the necessity of stopping Iran's "destabilizing behavior." He continued: "We continue to work together to protect international peace and security." Raab had previously asserted that the Security Council should respond to Iran's destabilizing actions and its disregard for international law. He confirmed that Britain sent a letter to the President of the Security Council regarding Iran's attack on the "Mercer Street" vessel.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz stated today that he informed ambassadors at the United Nations Security Council that the individual behind the attack in the Gulf of Oman is Saeed Arjani, the head of the drone unit in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. During a briefing with foreign ambassadors regarding the attack on the Mercer Street ship, he emphasized that the world must act now to protect international navigation, warning that Iran is about 10 weeks away from acquiring nuclear materials capable of developing a nuclear bomb. Gantz tweeted: "I revealed to the ambassadors of the countries in the Security Council that the one behind the attack in the Gulf of Oman is Saeed Arjani, and that Israel has acted over the past week through all political and security channels to urge the international community to set limits on Iran to stop its aggressive behavior."
