Lebanese artist Nawal Al Zoghbi announced that she is currently in Dubai, which led some to believe that she is there to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Her fans asked her whether she had received the COVID-19 vaccine, to which she responded by denying the news and confirming that she will not be taking the vaccine, especially during this period. She mentioned that her mother traveled to Dubai to film the last episode of the show "Ghani Ma Fayez," adding: "No, my dear, the last episode of 'Ghani Ma Fayez' will air on Thursday, and I will not take the vaccine at this time."
The COVID-19 vaccine is reported to be 70% effective in preventing the disease, with these results being temporary and based on extensive clinical trials conducted in the UK and Brazil, involving 20,000 people, among them 131 individuals infected with the virus. During the trial, vaccine effectiveness rose to about 90% for a group of individuals who received half a dose and then a full dose a month later, while effectiveness declined for another group who received two doses spaced a month apart. No participant experienced severe complications from COVID-19, regardless of the doses received, nor were any hospitalized.
Decision-makers in this field, such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, had previously stated that they would approve any vaccine that prevents COVID-19 infection or reduces disease severity by at least 50% in vaccinated individuals.
