A tragic incident occurred in Egypt's capital, Cairo, when a young man climbed to the top of the Cairo Tower in the Zamalek area and jumped, falling to his death. An security source told Sky News Arabia that the Qasr al-Nil police station received a notice from the Cairo Tower police point about the young man falling from the tower and dying instantly.
Police reported that eyewitnesses confirmed that the young man evaded everyone’s attention, climbed over the iron railing on the final floor of the tower, and jumped. The public prosecution has been notified and has ordered the transfer of the body to the morgue, taking over the investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
This suicide occurred just hours after a student from the Faculty of Arts at Mansoura University, north of Cairo, allegedly killed his colleague after she rejected his marriage proposal. The 187-meter high Cairo Tower also witnessed a suicide incident in late November 2019 when an engineering student from Helwan University jumped from the top of the tower, which sparked widespread controversy at the time and calls for increased security on the tower's final floor.
