Clashes continue in Tripoli between protesters and riot police.

The National News Agency reported that confrontations persist in Tripoli between young protesters and riot police, noting that the protesters are throwing Molotov cocktails and stones heavily at the security forces tasked with protecting the governmental building. The agency confirmed that one demonstrator threw a second hand grenade into the external courtyard of the governmental building, resulting in minor injuries to one person. In a related context, a number of residents from the city of Sidon began a march through the city streets and within old Sidon, chanting slogans calling for solidarity with Tripoli and urging people to take to the streets in rejection of the deteriorating living and economic conditions, the surge in the dollar's price, and the repercussions of lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
