The caretaker Prime Minister, Dr. Hassan Diab, signed the laws approved by the House of Representatives, and submitted them to the presidency for signing and issuance.
The National News Agency reported that Diab signed the law regulating the novel use of medical products to combat the COVID-19 pandemic and a law extending certain deadlines, which aims to permit revenue collection as before and to disburse expenses starting from February 1, 2021, until the issuance of the budget law for the year 2021 on a twelfth basis. The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, referred the law regulating the use of medical products to combat COVID-19 to the Cabinet to begin its implementation. The law includes exceptional medical cases that compel the Lebanese state, represented by the Ministry of Public Health, to issue scientific recommendations or medical approvals.
