U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed the Yemeni crisis with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry and Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan. U.S. State Department spokesperson Ned Price stated in a release on Monday that Blinken thanked the Egyptian government during a phone call with Shoukry for resuming flights between Sana'a and Cairo. He expressed hope that the first flight would take place in the coming days to allow Yemenis to receive medical care and reunite with their loved ones within the diverse Yemeni diaspora community in Egypt. Additionally, the U.S. State Department clarified that Blinken thanked Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud for the Kingdom's efforts to strengthen and extend the truce in Yemen during a phone call, during which they discussed efforts to mitigate the economic, environmental, and humanitarian threats posed by the "Safer" oil tanker anchored in the Red Sea.
