The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques: Saudi Arabia Strives to Create a Robust Economy

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, affirmed yesterday, Wednesday, that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to create a robust economy that can withstand international changes. In his annual royal speech before the Shura Council, King Salman stated that the projects launched will provide numerous job opportunities, adding that the second phase of Vision 2030 drives further achievements.

According to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA," King Salman reiterated his country's commitment to international charters aimed at establishing global security and stability. He remarked, "Iran is a neighboring country of the Kingdom," expressing hope that it would change its negative policies and behavior in the region, and move toward dialogue and cooperation.

The Saudi monarch continued, "We are closely monitoring the Iranian regime's destabilizing policies in the region, including the establishment and support of sectarian and armed militias and the systematic spread of its military capabilities in the countries of the region." He added that the Kingdom is keen on the security and stability of Yemen and the region and is working to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people, urging all parties to accept political solutions to restore security and stability to Yemen and avert threats to the Kingdom and the region.

King Salman reaffirmed the Kingdom's initiative to end the ongoing conflict in Yemen, expressing support for UN and international efforts to reach a political solution, in accordance with the three reference points represented in the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.

Regarding the situations in Syria and Libya, King Salman stated that the Kingdom supports all efforts to reach political solutions that maintain the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of both countries, achieving security and stability and ending the suffering of their peoples. He mentioned that the Kingdom stands with the Lebanese people, urging all Lebanese leaders to prioritize the interests of their people and work towards achieving what the population aspires to in terms of security, stability, and prosperity, while stopping Hezbollah's dominance over state matters.
