In a rare occurrence, a 103-year-old Iraqi man got married for the third time in Diwaniya province, southern Iraq, an event that generated widespread attention.
The joyous event took place in the town of Soumar, located about 180 kilometers from the capital Baghdad. Recently, "Mukhailif Farhoud Al-Mansouri" celebrated his wedding in the presence of family and relatives in the remote village.
Abdul Salam, the son of the centenarian Mukhailif, told "Sky News Arabia" that "my father married for the third time in his life; he was born in 1919, and his first wife passed away in 1999, after which he married another woman and had children."
He added, "At the end of last year and the beginning of this year, there was an issue with his wife, and she went back to her parents' house and did not return for several months. He then asked us to find another woman for him, and that indeed happened."
He noted that "the choice fell on a beautiful woman born in 1985, and their engagement took place, followed by his henna party and then the wedding." Mukhailif was accompanied by his remaining nine children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren during the ceremony.
