An Arab City is the Hottest in the World

During the summer, temperatures reach their peak in Kuwait City, making it "the hottest in the world," according to the British newspaper "Mirror." Last year, the city experienced a rise in temperatures that reached 52 degrees Celsius, while on Thursday, it recorded a slight drop of just a few degrees at 50 degrees Celsius, which is over 10 degrees Celsius higher than a healthy body temperature. In this hot climate, the air that blows through the city becomes dangerous and potentially deadly. With average daily highs of around 44 degrees Celsius from June to August, locals avoid the scorching sun and instead prefer to stay in their homes and offices where air conditioning keeps the air cool. Homes, offices, and various modes of transportation are equipped with cooling devices, as residents tend to visit shopping centers, which are fitted with air conditioning for their comfort, rather than taking daily outings. A Kuwaiti architect told the British newspaper that with no shade in the streets outside, "it is almost as if the air is non-existent."
