The Russian Elektromashina organization announced its intention to showcase advanced military weapons and equipment during the "Army-2022" forum. A statement from the organization mentioned, "During the Army-2022 forum activities, we will unveil the Prometheus security system used for protecting military installations and institutions, which includes 16 units of the 'Akhotnik' combat systems that are remotely controlled."
The statement highlighted that the 'Akhotnik' systems featured in the new system are modified versions of those revealed in 2018, and will include heavy machine guns and advanced reconnaissance systems for day and night operations. The 'Akhotnik' systems are considered some of the most modern remotely guided combat systems used in Russia, equipped with machine guns that can engage enemy targets at distances of up to 1000 meters, as well as cameras for both day and night vision, thermal imagers, automatic target tracking devices, lasers for target location and range, and specialized radar for tracking missiles and guided munitions.
These systems can be mounted on fixed platforms to protect military installations or installed on military vehicles and even warships and boats. The "Army-2022" forum will take place this year from August 15 to 21, at the "Patriot" congress and exhibition center, the "Kopinka" airport, and the "Alabino" training area in the outskirts of Moscow.
