Stade Rennais has announced the dismissal of the team's head coach, Julien Stéphan.
The decision to fire coach Julien Stéphan came after a series of disappointing results for Stade Rennais, with the latest being a 1-2 defeat at home against Nice last Friday in the 27th round of Ligue 1.
Julien Stéphan had been with Stade Rennais for nine years and took over as head coach in December 2018. He led the team to win the Coupe de France in 2019, marking the club's first title in the tournament in 48 years.
It is worth noting that Rennais is currently stuck at 38 points in ninth place and was eliminated from the Champions League group stage after recording one draw and five losses.
