The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, stated that a continuous crime is still occurring against the remaining deposits of the Lebanese people.
The National News Agency reported a statement from Samir Geagea, indicating that alongside all the losses inflicted by the current ruling group on the Lebanese people over the past four years, there is an ongoing crime that continues to this day against what is left of the Lebanese deposits. The statement added that the current authority, under the pretext of what it refers to as support for over a year and three months, is wasting billions of dollars, which either go to smuggling, benefit a few large merchants and importers, or are wasted on those who do not need support, noting that truly needy poor families receive only a minuscule portion of this support that is disbursed in their name and at their expense.
The statement urged the President, the caretaker government, the Central Bank's board, and the governor of the central bank to stop wasting billions and to direct what remains of the Central Bank's reserves solely to the needy poor families, considering this the only way to stop the drain and support these families for the coming years instead of providing support for only a few remaining months.
