Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane stated that he will "make any decision regarding his future that simplifies things for his club competing in La Liga." The French coach, who has won the Champions League three times and two La Liga titles during his tenure at Real, could be at risk of losing his position if he finishes the season without any trophies.
The defending champions were eliminated from the Copa del Rey by third-division Alcoyano and lost to Chelsea in the semifinals of the Champions League. Currently, they sit second in the league, two points behind Atlético Madrid, and are hoping for a slip from their rivals to maintain their chances of retaining the title.
In a press conference on Saturday, Zidane said, "We want to finish the season, and what I can say is that I will make things easy for the club because it always provides me with everything." He added, "I will make things very easy for the club, but we are now focused on the four remaining matches to end the season well, and that is what motivates me; the rest is just talk."
Real will host fourth-placed Sevilla on Sunday, aiming to stay in the title race, but will be without captain Sergio Ramos due to a hamstring injury. Ramos joins the list of defensive absentees, which includes Raphaël Varane, Dani Carvajal, and Lucas Vázquez.
