Mohammed Abdu's public relations manager, Mahmoud Al-Jilani, confirmed that this phone is one of the primary devices the artist uses daily for general calls.
Al-Jilani added to "Al-Arabiya.net" that "one of Mohammed Abdu's traits is his preference for practical ownership, as he constantly uses this phone." He noted, "I previously offered to change it for him, but he insists on this particular model." He also mentioned that the Artist of the Arabs receives all important public calls and SMS messages on his Nokia phone, while he uses an iPhone for other tasks, explaining that Mohammed Abdu does not forgo modern technology and mobile phones to manage his work and stay in touch with his children.
The phone's history dates back to 2017 when it was updated, while its initial release dates back to early September 2000. The gray Nokia 3310 that Mohammed Abdu carries is enhanced with several features, maintaining its classic spirit infused with modernity, evoking nostalgia among contemporary users since its initial launch 17 years ago. Additionally, the camera's resolution reaches 2 megapixels, equipped with an LED flash for simple shots, and it operates only on the 2G network, which drew criticism at the time of its release.
This phone is considered the most popular in the world, with sources reporting that about 126.1 million units of the original version, released in 2000, were sold globally, while its new version's price ranges from 200 to 280 Saudi riyals.
