An American YouTuber and former Olympic skier, Trevor Jacob, found himself under federal investigation in California after he intentionally crashed his plane. Jacob jumped from the plane before its fall and documented this in a video he posted on YouTube. The video began on the ground as Jacob flew his small plane alone, talking about the imminent adventure. After the plane took off and reached mid-air, Jacob calmly opened the plane's door and jumped out.
He captured the moments of the plane descending until it crashed, while carrying a camera that showed him soaring in the sky before hitting the ground, where he sustained injuries. In contrast, many social media users questioned what motivated the YouTuber to undertake such a reckless experiment, with some suggesting he sought fame through this act.
The video garnered over 1.2 million views within a few weeks. However, the worst news for Jacob is that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have launched an investigation into the incident, according to American media reports. Two spokespersons for the U.S. agencies told the British newspaper "Daily Mail" on Thursday that the investigation is still ongoing. The crashed aircraft is small and is valued between $5,000 to $20,000, dating back to the 1940s.
