The Ministry of Public Health clarified the reality of the discussions surrounding Moderna's refusal to deliver its product to Lebanon.
The National News Agency reported that the press office of the Ministry confirmed that the claims about Moderna's refusal to deliver are far from the truth. The statement explained that Moderna informed the Lebanese party some time ago that it would not be able to finalize any agreement in 2021 due to prior commitments to market its product in only five countries. However, it stated that it is ready for its agreement with Lebanon to take effect starting January 2022.
In its statement, the Ministry addressed those who insist on disrupting its work and distorting the facts, affirming that it has never hesitated to communicate directly or to grant negotiation permissions to private companies or to promote individual and community initiatives aimed at increasing vaccination coverage in the shortest time possible. The Ministry also published a detailed list of private companies that have received negotiation permissions.
The Ministry of Public Health urged media outlets across various platforms to disseminate accurate news and refrain from adopting incorrect information.
