A leaked video featuring young Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin has created a "storm" in the country, as she was seen dancing at a private party with a group of friends in what has been described as a "scandalous" manner. The 36-year-old Marin defended her behavior, stating that the video was private and should not have been published, according to CNN.
In her first comment on the leak, the Prime Minister admitted to celebrating "loudly," but expressed her anger over the release of the footage, which sparked sharp criticism from her political opponents. She told reporters in Kuopio, Finland: "These videos are private and were filmed in a private setting. I am very upset about them being published and shown to the public in that way."
She also confirmed that she took a drug test, clarifying that she has never used drugs in her life. The controversial video showed Marin dancing with five others in front of the camera and performing some moves described as provocative. Other footage depicted the Finnish official lying on the floor while singing. This led some of her opponents to criticize her behavior as inappropriate for a Prime Minister. Mikko Karna, an opposition MP, tweeted calling for her to undergo a drug test.
