A medical source revealed details about the health status of artist Dalal Abdel Aziz, almost two months after she was hospitalized in a private hospital to receive health services following her infection with the novel coronavirus. The source indicated that her condition has shown clear improvement in recent hours and she is being kept under observation.
The medical source told "Al-Ittihad" that it cannot be confirmed whether she will be discharged in the coming days unless her condition stabilizes for a few days. Afterwards, she may be able to rely on home healthcare under the careful monitoring of a treating physician familiar with Dalal Abdel Aziz's precise medical condition, especially as her mental health is expected to deteriorate due to the knowledge of her husband, artist Samir Ghanem's death.
The source added that Dalal Abdel Aziz still requires medical oxygen despite her recovery from COVID-19, as she is currently suffering from the long-term effects of the virus. This is particularly concerning as she has chronic illnesses and is of advanced age, making her in need of more comprehensive care than other infected individuals.
Additionally, artist Emy Samir Ghanem sent a new message to her parents, the late artist Samir Ghanem and artist Dalal Abdel Aziz, who is currently receiving care in a hospital after her COVID-19 infection and experiencing serious complications. Emy commented on a photo of her parents on her official Instagram account saying, "I love you very much, may God be with us, God is great."
Artist Samir Ghanem passed away on Thursday, May 20, and his funeral was held the following Friday from the mosque at the Military Museum in the Fifth Settlement to his final resting place, where he was buried in the family graves in Nasr City, with the condolences limited to the cemetery.
