The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division released the following statement: In the context of the daily follow-up conducted by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces to combat drug trafficking and promotion in various areas, and after this branch previously succeeded in arresting a drug trafficking and promotion network, they managed to identify one of its members who had been in hiding. He was promoting drugs on the highway in the Jounieh area in a black Kia Picanto vehicle, named: A.B. (born in 2000, Lebanese).
On August 22, 2022, after a precise observation and monitoring operation, one of the patrols from the Information Branch executed a tight ambush in the Dora area that led to his arrest in the vehicle. Upon searching him and the vehicle, they found: a plastic container containing approximately 57.5 grams of marijuana, a plastic tool used for drug consumption, narcotic pills, a cigarette rolling notebook, a mobile phone, an amount of $159, and 3,840,000 L.L.
During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding his involvement with the other members of the network that had been arrested earlier for drug promotion in the Jounieh area on the mentioned vehicle.
Legal action was taken against him, and he, along with the seized items, was referred to the relevant authority based on judicial instructions.
