Dina the Dancer Offers Advice to Adham Nabulsi

Egyptian dancer Dina addressed singer Adham Nabulsi following his announcement of retirement, stating: "Music is not forbidden," emphasizing that it is nourishment for the soul and no one has the right to declare it as such. In statements to "Laha" magazine, Dina suggested that if Nabulsi believes singing about love is forbidden, he should sing in love for God and the Prophet, and turn to religious chants and invocations. She added, "We cannot say that art is forbidden, as it would be a disaster. For example, is watching television forbidden? Of course not, because viewers can choose what benefits them and gain knowledge, culture, music, and the Quran from it." She continued: "Worldly matters are resolved in this life, while matters of the hereafter are in the hands of Almighty God, but I reiterate that music itself is not forbidden." This sparked widespread interaction from the audience, shocking many, as comments were divided between those supporting her viewpoint and those criticizing and mocking her statements about religion. Nabulsi faced significant backlash after announcing his retirement, with some considering that the Jordanian artist "forbids" art, while others supported his decision to retire.
