Samsung has launched three Windows 10 laptops inspired by its best-selling Galaxy smartphones. These new laptops come with a sleek design, touchscreen capabilities, and built-in access for ultra-fast downloads when away from Wi-Fi. With 5G speeds exceeding 300 Mbps, you may prefer to connect via mobile signal instead of the slow old home broadband.
The most impressive in the lineup is the new Galaxy Book Pro 360, which is as slim as Galaxy phones but packed with enough features to power you through your daily digital tasks. As the name suggests, the Pro 360 has a convertible screen that transforms it into a tablet and is fully compatible with Samsung's S Pen, allowing you to write without using your finger. It comes in two sizes, with the smaller one being 13.3 inches and weighing just over 1 kg. If you're not bothered by this curved screen, there's also the Galaxy Book Pro, which boasts a lighter design and weighs just 0.8 kg, making it easy to forget it's even in your bag.
Both the lightweight Galaxy Book Pro and the flexible Galaxy Book Pro 360 feature AMOLED displays that should deliver stunning visuals. The displays automatically adjust based on what you're doing, meaning Netflix shows will look like cinema screens, while colors appear more realistic when editing photos. You'll also get dynamic sound from both devices, thanks to Dolby Atmos integration, which Samsung claims provides an immersive audio experience. You can even link the new Galaxy Book laptop with a Samsung tablet for a dual-screen experience.
If you need to tackle some emails, Samsung has also made significant improvements to its keyboard with wider keys and a quieter design, along with a larger, more responsive trackpad. For Zoom calls, there's a new microphone system capable of background noise cancellation, ensuring you're heard loud and clear.
Another smart feature coming to these devices is the ability to adjust the internal fan depending on where and when the laptop is being used. With some artificial intelligence technologies, these devices can function if the laptop is on your lap, ensuring the components stay cooler.
If you're worried about security, Samsung has several advancements to help keep things secure, including a new Secret Screen mode that makes it impossible for someone sitting next to you on the train to read what's displayed on the screen. If someone tries to log in, the new security camera will take a picture of them and send it to you via email.
Prices for the Galaxy Book Pro start at $1,373, while the Pro 360 costs $1,500, and there's a standard Galaxy Book available for $873, according to the British newspaper Express.
