The First Airline in the Middle East and Africa Celebrates its 90th Anniversary

On the occasion of the national company "EgyptAir" celebrating 90 years since its establishment on May 7, 1932, Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar extended congratulations to all its employees. On this occasion, Mohamed Manar confirmed that "the rich and honorable history of EgyptAir, which is the first airline established in the Middle East and Africa and the seventh airline globally, is due to the efforts and dedication of its loyal staff. Over the past 90 years, the national company has managed to endure and succeed in facing the challenges and successive crises that have beset the air transport industry, continuously developing its fleet and expanding its network at a time when many global airlines collapsed."

The Minister of Civil Aviation praised the efforts of the early pioneers who contributed to the establishment of this significant national entity, who served as shining examples for subsequent generations that have maintained and advanced EgyptAir, enhancing its status at all regional and global levels to keep the national airline flying in the skies of the world while carrying Egypt's name for 90 continuous years.

He added that "the civil aviation sector in general, and EgyptAir in particular, has gone through difficult circumstances in the past period, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is considered the most challenging in the history of the air transport industry. Nevertheless, many achievements were realized due to the significant role played by EgyptAir staff in collaboration with all employees in the civil aviation sector."

The Minister of Aviation expressed gratitude and appreciation to all employees of EgyptAir, affirming that "the company's pursuit of further success will be achieved through their continuous efforts and dedication to advancing it."
