The central news - Lebanese youth Bassim and Qassem Bzoun announced on their "Facebook" account that they received a financial reward from "Meta" after discovering security vulnerabilities in its new program. The young men wrote in their post: "A $60,000 reward from Meta (Facebook) for informing us about security vulnerabilities in its new program to protect Facebook user data from leakage." They continued, "Facebook launched its own program inviting a select group of security researchers from around the world (fewer than 80 researchers) to assist in reducing data leaks as occurred in 2019, and we were among the chosen security researchers." CNN previously reported on the launch of this program in an article it published.
They noted, "We are proud to participate in this program after successfully identifying more than 50 security vulnerabilities within this program over the course of a month and a half, resulting in a reward of over $60,000 in addition to a commendation from Facebook's security team, describing our work as exceptional. Our names were also placed on the honor roll." They revealed that, "We were specially invited to attend Facebook's annual BountyCon conference, which will be held in Singapore to meet with other security researchers and employees from Facebook and Google."
