Thwarting of a Terrorist Attempt in Tunisia

The Tunisian Ministry of Interior announced in a press conference the existence of "serious threats" targeting the life of the country's president, Kais Saied. In detail, the Tunisian Interior stated that it thwarted a terrorist operation aimed at the "Presidency," and arrested the "terrorist" who carried out the attempt. The ministry emphasized the existence of what it described as "dangerous terrorist threats aiming to undermine the security of the country."

The spokesperson for the ministry, F sila Khalifi, explained that they foiled a terrorist operation that took place on Thursday against security forces in front of one of the key locations in the country. The ministry revealed that reliable information indicated plans to target President Saied's life, noting that these threats have become serious and have escalated in recent times. The Tunisian Interior pointed out that "the threats to the safety of the president have reached a level that necessitates public disclosure."
