A grandmother saved her son's friend from a giant crocodile attack by throwing herself at the terrifying creature in Queensland, Australia. The incident occurred near the famous fishing area in Bathurst Bay, where a crocodile weighing over 300 kilograms and measuring 4.2 meters long attacked Andrew Kerr, dragging him from the tent set up in Cooktown, Queensland.
The 61-year-old grandmother, Alicia Sorohan, responded to Andrew's screams for help by pouncing on the crocodile, which also tried to pull her into the water. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Alicia sustained various injuries before her son Jason shot the crocodile.
Regarding the frightening incident, Alicia said, "Everyone has returned to normal, and the crocodile attack has become a thing of the past." She added, "I loved crocodiles before and I still love them. They are a wonderful creature."
After the attack, Alicia spent two weeks in the hospital for treatment and is undergoing physical therapy, as she is still unable to move her hand properly, and her injured arm has not fully recovered. Alicia described her reaction when she saw the crocodile trying to pull her son's friend by saying, "The only thing that crossed my mind was to pounce on the crocodile. When you are in a situation like that, your options are limited."
