Putin Makes Changes in the Russian Government and Dismisses a Senior Official

Russian President Vladimir Putin made changes in the government on Friday, appointing Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov as Deputy Prime Minister. This was announced through a presidential decree published today, and Manturov will combine his new role with his responsibilities as Minister of Industry and Trade. The decree takes effect from the date of signing today, following the approval of Manturov's appointment by the Russian State Duma.

Additionally, President Putin relieved Yuri Borisov from the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Industry and appointed him to lead the Russian space agency "Roscosmos," replacing Dmitry Rogozin, who was dismissed from the position of Director of "Roscosmos."

In another decree, Putin made structural changes to the Russian government, reducing the number of Deputy Prime Ministers from 11 to 10.
