Some people experience headaches only in the forehead area. What are the causes of this? The German Association of Neurologists clarifies that frontal headaches have several causes, ranging from simple to serious.
Simple causes include lack of sleep, psychological stress, and fatigue from working long hours in front of a computer screen. In such cases, it can be countered with adequate rest and by reducing stress through relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation.
If these measures do not work, it is important to consult a doctor, especially if the headache is accompanied by other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and sensitivity to light, as these may indicate conditions like migraines, eye diseases, nerve issues, or tumors.
Other possible causes include inflammation or infection of the sinuses or frontal sinuses, tension in the neck, shoulder, or jaw areas, excessive strain on the jaw due to inflammation, misalignment of teeth, and excessive grinding.
