In his first comment following the Moroccan judiciary's ruling in the case known as "Tattoo Girl," the father of Khadija expressed his gratitude to the judicial system in his country, pointing out that everyone involved in this case is a victim. In a video clip, Khadija's father noted that his daughter has faced homelessness, developed mental health issues, and has been relying on medication, running, and sleeplessness, indicating that her life has been drastically changed. He emphasized in the local dialect that Khadija's situation is extremely difficult, and her condition is one of the most challenging, which no one can endure psychologically, health-wise, mentally, morally, and financially. He mentioned that his daughter is homeless and unaware of her surroundings.
The Moroccan Court of Appeals in Beni Mellal has concluded the case of the young woman "Khadija," popularly known in media circles as "Tattoo Girl," and has issued sentences against the perpetrators. This case garnered significant attention in both Arabic and international media after images of "Khadija" and video clips emerged in which she spoke about being kidnapped and gang-raped by 14 individuals, during which she was also tortured with cigarette butts and had tattoos drawn all over her body by her assailants. The Moroccan court sentenced the convicted individuals in this case to a total of 226 years in prison. Specifically, 11 offenders were sentenced to 20 years each, while a minor was ordered to serve 3 years, and two other involved individuals received sentences of 2 years and 1 year, respectively.
