The Ministry of Environment warns of an increased risk of forest fires in the coming three days. Fire hazard maps provided by the Fire Laboratory at the University of Balamand and the National Council for Scientific Research indicate a severe risk of fires that could be difficult to control and may spread suddenly and rapidly, particularly in the Bekaa and Baalbek-Hermel regions. Consequently, the Ministry requests all citizens and relevant authorities to adhere to the attached guidelines, especially refraining from using any source of fire near any vegetation cover, such as burning dry grass or using fireworks. There is a necessity for close monitoring of high-risk forest areas and to heighten readiness and preparedness to the maximum level. Immediate assistance should be sought from the Civil Defense, municipalities, and all relevant authorities if control over any fire is lost.
