The German club Borussia Mönchengladbach will host the English club Manchester City in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 in Budapest, Hungary, on the 24th of this month.
Originally, the match was scheduled to take place at Borussia Mönchengladbach's home ground, Borussia Park, on February 24. However, the location was changed due to German authorities imposing an entry ban on countries with high risks of coronavirus mutations. This ban is expected to remain in effect until at least the 17th of this month. Germany is currently enforcing strict restrictions on air travel, prohibiting the arrival of travelers from certain countries, including England, to curb the spread of the new variant of the coronavirus.
It is noteworthy that UEFA has decided on the venue for the first leg match between Manchester City and Mönchengladbach, which will take place at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest, Hungary.
