Russian nutritionist and digestive expert Nuria Dyanova revealed the importance of the habit of drinking a glass of water in the morning on an empty stomach, considering it one of the common healthy habits many people practice. The nutritionist supported the necessity of this morning routine for its health benefits, but with one condition. She stated, "A glass of water in the morning on an empty stomach is really a beneficial habit as it wakes up the body, starts all processes, allows the stomach to function properly on time, improves mental state, in addition to stimulating bowel motility."

The specialist specified a condition for drinking water, which should be at a certain temperature. She added, "The water should be at room temperature, not cold, especially if a person suffers from constipation, which about 80% of urban residents experience. If there are abdominal pains, the water should be warmer." According to Sputnik news agency, she continued, "Drinking water with the addition of lemon juice and citrus juice on an empty stomach will have a beneficial effect if there are no stomach problems. In the case of digestive system diseases, this will exacerbate the health condition."
